Mission:

The mission of the Evangelism Ministry of VCC is to guide and equip Christ’s followers in the methods and values of evangelism, and to empower each member of VCC to feel comfortable making others comfortable and feel at home in the fellowship of our congregation.

 Goals for 2007:

• Formulate a mission and an Evangelism Core Group to bring the importance of evangelism to the forefront of VCC’s revitalization efforts
• Develop a system for lay members to call on persons who have visited our worship
• Have more notes sent to persons who have visited our worship/congregational events
• Schedule, construct and execute an Evangelism training for every member  of the congregation to attend (have completed before Easter on April 8^th, 2007)
• Coordinate with the Leadership Team in guiding the congregation in performing four “Acts of Kindness” for the neighborhood/community in 2007
• Coordinate advertising with Michelle Beech and a VCC advertising team for the year and into 2008
• Explore and/or develop methods of witnessing to people in times of significant life transition, including weddings and funerals/memorial services
• Communicate to the congregation their role as members of the Evangelism Ministry and equip and train them for that role
• Have at least 5 members complete the “Evangelism Essentials Assessment Tool” and meet once to discern areas that would be helpful for VCC’s Evangelism Ministry in the coming 3 years
• Investigate planning a summer workshop and dinner program
