Village Christian also supports many of the denominational outreach ministries of the Christian Church(Disciples of Christ).  Among those ministries we give to the following:

  • Tennyson Center for Children and Families at Colorado Christian Home

Colorado Christian Home has been a ministry of the Christian Church for one hundred years and a ministry of this congregation from it's very beginnings.  CCH is supported by congregational funds as well as Christian Womens Fellowship Funds.  There are also a number of individuals in the congregation who donate directly to CCH.  The mission of CCH Tennyson Center for Children is to be a community of people dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse and neglect, serving and strengthening children and families. As professionals and concerned citizens, CCH strives to provide competent and caring treatment, educational and advocacy services that are community-based, family-focused and child-centered.

In 2004 CCH is celebrating its 100th year of serving the children of Colorado.  Learn more about the ministry of Colorado Christian Home at their website:  http://www.tennysoncenter.org

  • Disciples Mission Fund

DMF supports a great number of ministries of the church including Global Ministries, New Church Ministries and General and Regional level staff.  VCC supports the DMF ministries through our general budget and through special day giving that takes place on various holidays throughout the year.  If you would like to learn more about Disciples Mission Fund you can go to the http://disciples.org and find listed the ministries that DMF supports within the denomination.

  • Week of Compassion

Week of Compassion is the Disciples' way to reach crisis areas both nationally and internationally.  WOC works in coordination with 16 other outreach organizations including Church World Service.  VCC funds the ministry of WOC through gifts throughout the year and through a special offering in February.  Information about the extrodinary work of Week of Compassion can be found at:  http://weekofcompassion.org

As members of the body of Christ we are honored to be able to serve the least, the last and the lost through these various ministries and organizations.  Please take some time to discover their gifts and perhaps to share some of yours.
